Round 8 of XCR ’25 was at Lake Wendouree, Ballarat, in perfect weather. Open runners competed over 15k and the open short course and junior races were 6k. Two APSU runners won bronze medals – Tom Bowers in the open men’s 15k and Rory Vial in the under 20 men’s 6k. Whilst no medals are awarded in this event in the overage divisions, standouts were Lung, Lammers and Martin (all APSU) 1st, 2nd and 3rd W55, Williams and Fitzgerald (both OX) 1st and 2nd W60, Mosbey (OX) 2nd W40 and Alan Colman (OX) 3rd M50. With two events remaining, APSU United looks assured of winning three premierships – M60, W40 and W50. OX should take out the W60 flag.
