Matt Clarke (OX) produced one of the individual performances of the season at the Hooley Relay, running the challenging 3 km course in 8:34 on his second time around. Matt managed to break the course record twice in one day, because his first leg of 8:45 was also inside his own course record, set last year. His age grading of 87.13% has only been bettered once this year – by David McNeill at the Dyson Relay. But Matt’s individual dominance was not enough to deny Old Wesley its first open team win of the season. OW also won the women’s race, handing OX a rare defeat.
