John Macmillan (1938-) – Life member 2012

18 January 2017

John has been associated with APSOC for over forty years. He is a loyal Old Xaverian and has been a regular competitor in APSOC competition.

A look at the competition results shows a total lack of John’s name among the winners. This was and is not his strength and John considers himself one our many social runners.

He has been APSOC Secretary since 2000 and has overseen some significant changes in the organisation. He was instrumental in setting up the Graham Wise Athletes Scholarship Fund to assist APSOC athletes.

John has always been available to help make welcome new participants, whether from Old Xaverians AC or other clubs. He is always there to help as an official even if that means sacrificing his competing for the day. He has acted in numerous officiating roles for Old Xaverians, APSOC and APS United, and has always done so with enthusiasm and kindness towards all competitors.

Groups such as the APSOC are dependent on strong administration and we are most fortunate to have him in our numbers.

John became a Life Member in 2012.
