The Athletics Victoria XCR series commenced with the 8k Cross Country Championships at Hanging Rock. APS United won an extraordinary four divisions: men’s open division 2, M60+, W40+ and W50+. Individual stars included Tom Bowers (open 4th), Monica Lammers (W55 gold). Mark Frater (M50 silver) and Anne Martin (W55 bronze). Old Xaverians won the W60+ division, with individual medallists Bruce Davie (M60 gold), Di Guiney (W50 silver), Margaret Fitzgerald (W60 silver) and Christine Williams (W60 bronze). St Kevin’s won men’s open division 3.
