Mitchell makes her move

It was a benign Brighton day that suited Olivia Mitchell as she won the Brighton-by-the-Sea handicap race for 2021, leading St Kevin’s to a team win. Angus Dalton (OX) and Anna Kasapis (OW) were the fastest runners on the day as overage records fell to Andrea Lung (CG), Mark Purvis (OS) and Margaret Fitzgerald (OX).

APSU back in Premier Division

APS United has made a triumphant return to AV’s men’s premier division by placing fifth in the opening event of the XCR season at Jells Park. There were other stellar team efforts, with both the mens’s and women’s 50+ teams dominating their divisions to win gold, while the M40+ and W40+ teams won minor medals.

It was expected that the close battle between Old Scotch and Old Xaverians would be decided by the result of the Cooke-McClelland 8k, and so it came to pass as OX won the day, making it a tie for overall season points.
