It was expected that the close battle between Old Scotch and Old Xaverians would be decided by the result of the Cooke-McClelland 8k, and so it came to pass as OX won the day, making it a tie for overall season points. But the countback rules give victory to the team that wins the Cooke-McClelland.
By winning both the division 1 and women’s team events at the Cooke-McClelland 8 km, St Kevin’s has won two APSOC premierships for 2018. Only Old Xaverians have previously won the two divisions in the same year (in 2010 and 2012). This made it back to back flags for SK in division 1. Old Scotch’s
